Lovable. Worth living. Leutkirch.
The urbanity of an up-and-coming medium-sized town and the diverse traditions of village life culture meet in Leutkirch and shape the town's quality of life. Half of the town's 23,000 inhabitants live in the town centre and half in the eight villages with their almost innumerable residential areas. Leutkirch covers an area of 175 square kilometres, linking Upper Swabia with Bavaria.
The town owes its name to the "Leutekirche" St. Martin. In the Middle Ages, it was the spiritual centre of the Nibelgau. Between 1803 and 1810, Leutkirch was Bavarian, then Württemberg's Oberamtsstadt.
