- Description

The Treasures of Drnava Nature Trail starts in the village of Drnava and has six stops with information boards:
1. Drnava - Ironworks
It was here, in the former ironworks of Count Andrássy, that parts of the famous “Lánchíd” Chain Bridge in Budapest were cast in the 1840s, earning the village the nickname "Kis Pest - Little Pest".
2. Drnava - Penduculate Oak
This oak tree is mentioned as early as 1670!
In the shade of its mighty and admirable crown, it protects every traveller from the gentle rain and hot sun rays.
In 2020, it was awarded the Tree of the Year title and represented Slovakia in the European round of this poll.
3. The Dénes (or Dionýz) Mine
In its vicinity you will find a sitting area and a romantic nook by a forest pond.
A walk through the forest offers a pleasant relaxation in the country and at times a beautiful view of the whole village.
4. The Chapel of Our Lady
5. The Andrássy Manor House - a one-storey Baroque-Classical Manor House
6. The Church of St. Nicholas the Bishop – a Catholic church from 1779
On Tulipán Farm you can rent an e-bike and, apart from the nature trail, explore Čremošná Valley, the Volovské Hills, the Slovak Karst and Zádiel Gorge.
