After Romont, the route winds its way through green Fribourg pastureland, offering repeated views of the Alps and wide valleys. The gentle hills gently sway towards the west, without one suspecting that a spectacular view would soon follow. The village of Oron follows the change to Vaud and a little later with the micro town of Rue the change to fairyland. It's hard to believe that these few houses around the castle were once a fortified Savoy outpost. Then finally the curtain rises on Lake Geneva, which becomes visible below us in an impressive sweep. A long descent through the famous wine-growing region of Lavaux rounds off this stage and the entire Heart Route.
