To Dolenjske Toplice

At Otočec Castle, turn right along the Krka River towards Novo mesto. In Novo mesto, follow the signs for the direction of Mirna Peč, and from the "Tuš" petrol station onwards, Češča vas and Straža. In Češča vas we continue towards Zalog and Straža. In Straža we continue along the road in the direction of Kočevje. At the beginning of the village of Gorenje Polje, turn left, onto a side path towards Dolenjske Toplice. In Dolenje Polje we leave the river Krka: cross it over a wooden bridge, turn left on the main road and descend past the school to the center of Dolenjske Toplice

After visiting the spa, we continue in the direction of Uršne sele: we climb through the villages of Dolenje and Gorenje Sušice to Dobindol. In the center of Uršne sel, turn left towards Novo mesto. At the end of Birčna vas, turn right towards Stranska vas. After a few kilometers of descent, we reach the main road Novo mesto – Metlika, turn right onto the main road. After a good kilometer of driving, leave it and turn left onto a less busy path in the direction of Hrušica. Of the great ascents, this is the last on our way: we drive through the villages of Šentjošt and Hrib pri Orehku (a beautiful panorama rewards us for our efforts). Turn left in the direction of Veliki Sla tnik and Križ. In Križe, turn right for Potov Vrh and Petelinjek.

From Petelinjak we descend to the main road to the right towards Ratež, and at Gostilna Mrak (Pod Klančkom) to the left for Sela pri Ratežu. We return to Otočec through Dolenja vas. We will soon be again by the river Krka: we see it near the village of Otočec, where we cross a wooden bridge, and turn right in the center of the village. It is only 2 km to Otočec Castle
