Transfer by PostBus from Sent to Val Sinestra (1524 m above sea level). The hike begins at the Val Sinestra spa hotel. Up to the Zuort farm, the stream La Brancla will be crossed several times, crossing two suspension bridges. At the Zuort farm the flower and herb meadows begin. The trail climbs steadily through the Val Chöglias up to the highest point of this stage, the Cuolmen d'Fenga (Fimberpass), which leads into the extensive Val Fenga. With a bit of luck you will spot ibexes. After the short descent, you reach the Heidelberger Hut. The hut of the German Alpine Club (DAV) is run by an Austrian hut warden and is located on Swiss soil.

After crossing the pass descend into Val Fenga

- From the north: via Landquart - Klosters by car transport through the Vereina tunnel (Selfranga - Sagliains) or via the Flüela Pass into the Lower Engadin on H27.
- From the east: via Landeck / Austria in the direction of St. Moritz on H27
- From the south: via Reschenpass (Nauders-Martina) or Ofenpass (Val Müstair-Zernez) on H27
Val Sinestra near Sent can be reached in 20 minutes by car from the Engadin road H27 near Scuol (50 minutes driving time from Vereina south portal)

- With the Rhaetian Railway (from Chur, Prättigau or Upper Engadin) or with the PostBus (from Martina, Ftan or Tarasp) hourly to Scuol-Tarasp.
