Description

The Rinerhornbahn travels from the village of Glaris to the summit in about ten minutes. In good weather, you can see as far as the history-charged Schatzalp from here. On the other side of the valley, take a seat and breathe deeply - because the 3.5-kilometre-long Rinerhorn toboggan run is considered one of the most challenging ones far and wide. Its curves are extremely steep, and a lot of steering and braking skills are required. Even the start is a steep section including the tunnel: you should survive its entrance and exit unharmed before it becomes a little flatter and the path winds constantly through the fir forest. Further down, there are more steep sections, which are characterized by spectacular steep face curves. These continue to the end of the track. Fortunately, the local bus brings the tobogganists home safely even at a late hour. Especially as one might like to hand over the steering to someone else for once.
