Description

From Klosters Platz the asphalted road climbs steeply to Selfranga. Once we have mastered this initial ascent, the route continues at a more leisurely pace on an refreshing track through the Ronen forest. As we reach the edge of the forest a splendid scenery opens up before us: the wide valley floor with its lush meadows unfolding in front of us, with the Silvretta Glacier beyond soaring into the sky. And for those who set off on this tour after work, the sight of the Silvrettahorn in the evening sun is even more majestic. The fast-paced downhill run to Monbiel awaits us next, and we follow the young Landquart river upstream on leisurely uphill trails and and forestry tracks. At the Pardenner Boden the Prättigau valley opens up before us one final time, showing off its generous pastures and grazing land. We then switch to the other side of the valley as we cross an impressive suspension bridge over the Vereinabach. The cool breeze of the water refreshes us for the ascent along forestry tracks and trails into the Alpwald. Finally the snappy downhill run via Pardels back to Klosters is an excellent way to round off this impressive tour. The route is already accessible very early on in the year. It is particularly stunning in spring when there is still lots of snow at higher altitude.
