- Description

At the end of the parking lot you can notice signs for Mt. Krasji vrh, Vrata Mountain pass and the Zapleč Mountain pasture. Start following the signs for the Vrata Mountain pass and the Zapleč Mountain pasture. The trail will take you uphill to the right to the edge of the forest. When you leave the forest, the slope intensifies as the trail winds to the first pasture where it levels up at the trough where you can replenish your water supplies. There is a wide cart track routed above the trough. Pass it and start following the poorly marked but well-worn trail winding between the forest on the left and the slope beneath the Krn Mountain range on the right which will take you to a field gate which you will have to climb over. You will find yourself on the access road towards the Zapleč and Zaprikraj Mountain pastures which you will follow to the Zaprikraj Mountain pasture and further to the Zaprikraj Outdoor museum. This nicely arranged museum tries to show the difficult moments from World War I and how senseless this global nightmare was. Take a stroll along the well-marked trail along the trenches, caverns and artillery positions which clearly demonstrate how the soldiers lived during those times. You return to the starting point along the same trail you came from.
