This circular hiking trail starts in the centre of the town of Bovec and leads past Station A of the Kanin cableway, golf club Bovec, Narnia movie shooting site, Boka Waterfall and the sandbanks of the Soča River next to the village of Čezsoča and returns back to the starting point in Bovec.
- Directions
-
The recommended direction of the tour will take you from the centre of Bovec through the old village centre towards Station A of the Kanin cableway where you will have the first chance to refresh yourself in the restaurant as well as visit the nearby adrenaline park. From here on the tour continues towards the west where you will, after a short descent, arrive to the Bovec Golf course which you have to avoid on the right side. We have to warn you that hiking on the golf course is prohibited. The trail will then take you above the Glijun Stream to the main road which you have to cautiously cross and continue through the cool forest next to the Soča River to the sandbanks of the Soča River where the movie Chronicles of Narnia – Prince Caspian was shot. From here on continue towards the foothills of the Boka Waterfall (you will have to cross the main road one more time). By hiking along the side trail you can ascend to the viewpoint looking at this mightiest Slovenian waterfall in approximately 10 minutes. At the nearby Hotel Boka you have another chance to refresh yourself with a beverage or a snack. In the immediate vicinity of this hotel you will cross the Soča River and slowly turn towards the village of Čezsoča. The trail here is almost entirely routed along the Soča River and its sandbanks. This part of the trail will give you a chance to visit the Narnia movie shooting site from the opposite side. Soon after you will enter the mainly willow tree forest called Vrbulje and slowly continue in its shade in the vicinity of the Soča River towards the bridge in Čezsoča. If the weather is too hot you can always freshen up in the Soča River. The trail leaves Vrbulje at the old limekiln. At this location you also have a chance to refresh yourself in the nearby snack bar of the Prijon sport centre. From here on you only have to overcome the last part of the trail which is mainly routed along the local road Čezsoča-Bovec.
