The cycling route along the Lower Bohinj Valley will award you with astonishing views over the meadows of Dobrava and the Julian Alps with Mt Triglav. Start in Bohinjska Bistrica and ride towards Lake Bohinj below the Bohinj and Tolmin mountains. The first part of the path is stone road that takes you past the village of Žlan to the famous Hansen ski jump and to the village of Polje, where asphalt road starts. Go towards Ribčev Laz and to the shore of Lake Bohinj, where you can rest on the shore, or take a break at one of the inns. Return along the Bohinj Cycling Route and start at the beginning of Stara Fužina, then ride along the left bank of the Mostnica and Sava Bohinjka rivers to the Danica Campsite in Bohinjska Bistrica. The tour is suitable for mountain and trekking bicycles.

Start at the car park near the Danica Campsite in Bohinjska Bistrica. Turn right before the bridge and follow the signs for Zoisov grad restaurant. Continue along the Bistrica River to the edge of the village and before the bridge, turn right onto the stone road. After a short ascent you come to a crossroads and turn left. Follow the stone road (a short asphalt ascent comes soon) and at the crossroads with hiking signs turn right. You descend on a stone road that becomes steeper when coming to an asphalt road. At the end of the hill, turn sharp left and after a couple of hundred metres turn right to the stone road that takes you to the Hansen ski jump. Cross the brook and ascend to Polje village. You reach an asphalt road and after a couple of hundred metres turn right, where the road takes you past the pizzeria to the main road Bohinjska Bistrica – Lake Bohinj. Turn left onto the main road and continue to Ribčev Laz. The road takes you to the shore of Lake Bohinj, where you can rest on the shore, or take a break at one of the inns. Return along the Bohinj Cycling Route and start at the beginning of Stara Fužina, then ride along the left banks of the Mostnica and Sava Bohinjka rivers to the Danica Campsite in Bohinjska Bistrica.

The route is used for farming purposes; therefore, you can also meet cars, motorcyclists and agricultural machinery along the way. A part of tour takes you on the main road. We recommend special attention there.

Drive by car to Bohinjska Bistrica from Bled, through Soteska or over Pokljuka. You can also access the village across Jelovica and Soriška planina.
- Public transportation

You can travel by train or bus to Bohinj. From the Primorska side, you can also come by car train.
Regular buses operate from Bohinjska Bistrica to Bled, Ljubljana and Ukanc the whole year round; in summer you can get to the Savica Waterfall or Rudno polje (on the Pokljuka) by Hop-On-Hop-Off bus that also carries bicycles. The bus stop is in the centre of the village.
