Of river and love - The Neck-Breaker

Watermill at Tufas must have been a special place - mill in a cave under the waterfall. There is no evidence it ever existed though, only a spoken tradition speaks of it. And love story.
There was a girl called Soka. She watched her goats at the top of the cliff from where she could see the waters of Krupa pouring in with waters of Zrmanja. Pane was a shepherd watching his herd at the opposite cliff. He used to sing a lot, his song echoing through the canyon. One day Soka returned a song and singing together they fell in love. It was their sing along summer of love, but soon the autumn came - time for a boy to ask for girl’s hand. Soka’s father refused dreadfully. He sent Pane away never to come back again. Soka was devastated. It completely crushed her. She was longing for Pane’s song during the whole winter. In spring Soka returned to her cliff. So, did Pane. He started singing the moment he spotted her, but Soka couldn’t bear it anymore. If she’s not allowed to be with Pane, she’d rather die. So, she jumped off the cliff breaking her neck. Tremendously, Pane did the same.
