- Directions
-
From the "Les Prés-d'Orvin, Le Grillon" bus stop, this winter hike takes you past the Les Prés-d'Orvin-Chasseral Cross-Country Skiing Centre and up to the ridges of the Chasseral mountain at 1,288 m in altitude. From the ridge you will be able to enjoy wonderful panoramic views across Lake Neuchâtel and even to the Alps on clear days. To reach the ridges of the Chasseral, you will firstly head off in the direction of the Métairie de Prêles restaurant. Next, you will walk past the bison ranch where you can admire real North American bison. Shortly after this you will reach the Jura ridge at 1,288 metres above sea level. The descent back to the starting point passes near the Métairie d'Évilard restaurant (open at weekends) and then follows the Chemin des Cernilles, which leads through magnificent landscapes typical of the region, before finally reaching the village of Les Prés-d'Orvin.
