Description
This signposted Trail Running route starts right by the Wispile valley station and takes you up to the Wispile. Following the route of the Wispile gondola lift, the trail first runs up to the Bodme middle station and then on to the Wispile mountain station and restaurant. If the initial metres upwards are too strenuous for you, you can take the lift from Gstaad to the Wispile. If you wish, you can take a break at the Wispile mountain restaurant and enjoy the superb views. Follow always the highest point of the ridge and enjoy the great view over the Saanenland. At Chrinetritt the path goes steeply downhill to Chrinepass (1659 m). Once there you have another ascent of about 100 meters in altitude and you finally reach the trail in direction Lake Lauenen (1381 m). On the downhill hiking trail you arrive at the nature reserve of Lake Lauenen. The bus takes you back to Gstaad. You may also walk to Lauenen village (1241 m) and take the bus there.
Notes: You can shorten this route if you wish: Gstaad-Wispile gondola or vice versa (Please note the operating hours for the mountain railways).
It is also possible to extend this route: Lauenen-Gstaad or vice versa.
If going from or to Lauenen please note the bus timetable.
The route is not continuously signposted. Follow the signposts to Lake Lauenen/Lauenen.
