- Brief description
-
Mont Sujet is a scenic tour in the Jura region near Biel. There are many trails that can be linked together to make this tour more or less of a technical challenge depending on what you are looking for. The descent to Met de Preles is a fun woodland trail in the dry, but very slippery when wet. A great day out for intermediate and above mountain bikers.

- Description

A bueatiful tour in the Jura Region which offers a surprising amount of singletrail with the option to add loops or explore the trails around Magglingen and Evilard if you are so inclined. The scenery over the Chasseral, Three Lakes Region and the Bernese Alps are stunning on a clear day. This tour is a really nice tour in Autumn and Spring when the weather is clear to see from The Bernese Alps all the way to Mont Blanc.
- Directions

From Biel the ride takes us up into the Jura with beautiful views over Lake Biel and on a clear day the Bernese Alps. The first trail section by Restaurant Twannberg is short but fun an gives a small taste of what is to come later. To keep the climb interesting there are also some nice singletrail sections which take us around the town of Lamboing, before continueing the climb on paved road towards Le Fornel. From here it's off road to the summit of Mont Sujet where time has to be taken to enjoy the surrounding Panorama of the Chasseral, the three lakes region and the Bernese Alps.
The descent begins over the pastures before dropping down towards Bergerie du Haut before turning north on singletral dropping to point 1131. In May 2016 the very last part of this trail had to be avoided due to forestry work, but was easily circumnavigated on a dirt road. From here it's about 750m on the road before entering a singletrail on the left hand side of the road going past Plans Dessous and turning right at point 1007 near les Pres d'Orvins and taking the hiking trail (crossing two gates) down to the valley at Jorat.
In Jorat we turn right on an unpaved road which then joins a single trail down to the river leading us towards Evilard, where we can go straight through the town and descend back to Biel or spend some time circumnavigating the town on some flowy trails before descending to Biel.
