Until recently, the path was known only to locals or hunters from Horehronie - it stretched from Telgárt to the forests above the village of Bacúch. It is named after Jan Vogel, whose fate is inextricably linked with hunting, the Coburg family and the ruling powers of the Third Reich. The Coburgs started building a trail over the Low Tatras. Vogel completed and improved it to meet the demands of comfortable movement of hunters through the forest area during hunting.
In some parts of the trail, we would look for the remains of the trail in vain nowadays. But some determined inhabitants of Telgárt did not want this part of their history to be irretrievably lost in the forest undergrowth. Thanks to their efforts, you can wander along one part of it that has been cleaned up and made accessible. Popularly, the trail is also called Fogláč, and in Polomka area it is known as Rajštag. The Telgárt part of this beautiful trail ends with beautiful views of Ždiar Hill. From its top, the village is guarded by a majestic cross, the highest wooden cross in Slovakia.
