- Description

The nature trail “In the Footsteps of Maginhrad” is inspired by the story of Maginhrad written by Ján Botto, a native of the village of Nižný Skálnik. Various scenes and symbols from the legend of Maginhrad come to life here through wooden statues - the princess Maga, the mythical table, Ivor the giant, the Knights of Maginhrad and others.
The trail takes hikers to natural beauties such as Dragon's Wellwater springs, Maga's Tears, the pond and former sandstone mines in the forest.
There are 12 stops along the trail (6.5 km), which will introduce you to the story of Maginhrad, the surrounding nature, the history of the villages of Nižný and Vyšný Skálnik and the life of the local people in the past.
