Description
We start at the Huerzeler cycling station Playa de Muro South, heading north. Via Alcudia and the gardens of Pollença we reach the first climb, the Coll de Femenia. Afterwards, the road continues hilly, passing the monastery of Lluc until we reach the turnoff to Sa Calobra / Coll del Reis. We continue to follow the road towards Sóller. We then reach the two reservoirs (Gorg Blau and Cúber) until we reach the highest passable point at Puig Major.

From here there is a rapid descent for a total of 14 kilometres to Sóller. We take a turnoff to the village of Fornalutx. Afterwards, we ride over Sóller and over a 5km long climb directly to the coast. We follow this via Deia and Valldemossa until we finally master the last climb with the Coll d'en Claret.

From here we continue via Esporles and the inland to Santa María del Camí. The route then changes to the Cami Vell de Muro, which we follow to the end. From here, the route leads back to Playa de Muro via Sa Pobla.

Directions

The tour can also be done from the Huerzeler cycling stations Playa de Muro North, Puerto Alcudia and Can Picafort.

Equipment

Protect yourself from the prevailing weather conditions. In cold or rainy weather, rain protection and warm functional clothing are recommended. Don't forget sun protection in sunny weather. In any case, take enough food and liquids with you.

Furthermore, we recommend taking along:

Min. 1 spare inner tube Air pump Mini tools Drinking bottle(s) Small first aid box Personal items such as cash, identity card and mobile phone
Safety instructions

Local road traffic regulations apply.
Local peculiarities: Turning directly left is dangerous. Recommendation: Stop on the right, then cross the road.
Ride in single column.
Use cycle paths if available.
Be careful when it rains. Some of roads can become very slippery.
Wear a bicycle helmet.
Stop to make a phone call.

Tips

On the descent to Sóller, turn off towards Fornalutx as shown in the track. Here the road passes the main square where you can refill your bottles at a fountain with drinking water.
The best place to take a break is Deia, which you reach after about 80km. There are cycle-friendly cafés along the road. If you need extra water, there is also a supermarket.
Because the way back is generally easy and flat, this route is particularly suitable for days with south-easterly wind, which is well intercepted by the mountains, but can be well exploited inland. Otherwise you would have a headwind for the last 60km.
