Our tour starts at the townhall of the village “Eimeldingen”. Follow the street “Dorfstraße” and leave the village by passing the cemetery. Cycle towards the village “Fischingen” and turn left into the cycling path shortly before you reach it. Be careful when passing the country- road K6351, there is much and fast traffic. Continue by driving up the hill towards “Winterweiler” and there you follow the main street passing the church and leaving the cemetery behind. Ahead of you all you see is fields, meadows and beautiful scenery.
The next village you will reach on this trip is “Welmlingen”. From there you follow the cycling path towards “Blansingen” and after 1,8 km you turn right and then straight. You now have an amazing view with many little hills ahead of you and you even might see the mountain “Blauen” once in a while. From the plateau above of the village “Bad Bellingen” you will have an amazing view over the Rhine valley and even the Alsace. Keep following the cycling path towards the village “Schliengen”. This path goes first kind of steep up the hill but then you can let it roll down towards “Schliengen”.
Once you’ve reached “Schliengen” you have many different opportunities to rest. You can also make some sightseeing and look for example at the „Wasserschloss Entenstein”. This castle used to be a flat of noble people and often changed its shape over the time. At the entrance you’ll find a plate with all the different owners and shapes the castle had throughout the history.
Today it is the townhall of “Schliengen”. After resting and looking at the sights you can now leave “Schliengen” and cycle towards the village “Bad Bellingen”. The water of the thermal springs of this village has a high amount of Co2 and is full of minerals. It is proven that this thermal spring is one of the best once in Europe Pass this village and cycle towards the cycling path “Rheintal Radweg”. You can now enjoy the peaceful ride back along the Old Rhine without being interrupted by cars. If the weather is warm, bring along your swimming things and go swimming at the “Isteiner Schwellen”.
Leave the cycling path at the “Isteiner Schwellen” and turn left to drive towards the village “Efringen- Kirchen”. From here you can follow the cycling path back towards the village “Eimeldingen”.
