- Description
-
A route providing a rare opportunity to walk close to the sea, away from built-up areas. The coast is not unlike many in Britain, with the sea beating on the rocks by the road side. The short walk, suitable for all, terminates at an elevated lookout tower, the Torre del Pirulico , which has public access via 1 a steep external stairway.
1. Beginning the walk at the Macenas tower (an 18th century military building) make your way south where you will join a little road leading past the Macenas café/bar. Carry on down this road with the sea on the left.
2. From this point you should be able to see the tower in front.
3. Once you have reached the tower, with or without climbing into it, return by the same route.
This road continues for some distance beyond the tower, with rather more rise and fall, reaching two comparatively isolated beaches in approximately one mile.
