Cross country skiing Rigi Kaltbad

Cross-country skiers will find what is probably the most scenic trail in the northern hemisphere on the Rigi.

The 7 km long, classically groomed trail leads from Kaltbad to Rigi Scheidegg and follows the mostly level route of the former Scheideggbahn. The panoramic view of the Alps, Lake Lucerne and the Schwyz basin invites you to take a breather.

Another cross-country ski trail is located on the Rigi Seebodenalp. This trail is considered an insider tip. The mostly flat circuit stretches over 5.5 kilometres. The starting & finishing point is at the mountain station of the Küssnacht-Seebodenalp cable car and leads you along the ridge towards Alp Ruodisegg. After a long left-hand bend, the trail runs back to the Seebodenalp car park. The fantastic view of the Mittelland accompanies you all the way. The trail is prepared in good snow conditions and can be used free of charge.
