Description: The tour begins with a scenic ride on the chairlift. This is followed by a relaxed descent back to Bellwald. The route leads through open terrain and the peaceful Lärchenwald and continually offers new views.

The hike begins at the summit station of the chairlift and the neighbouring restaurant with panoramic sun terrace. From here, you have a breath-taking view of the Rhone valley and the summits of the Binn Valley Landscape Park on the other side of the valley.

While the path meanders down the mountain, it offers views of the Fieschertal to the west and the majestic peaks of the Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch UNESCO World Heritage Site, (which protects the region with the most glaciers in the Alps) to the north. The westernmost point of the trail – near Mutti – is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the sun while admiring the scenery.

Tips: Take your time to explore the other parts of the village of Bellwald. The village is one of the oldest and best preserved Valais villages.
Additional information: The winter hike begins at the summit station of the Richenen chair lift and leads mostly west of the chair lift through forests and open terrain back to Bellwald.

For a more challenging alternative, you can walk the path in the opposite direction or tackle both the ascent and descent.
Directions: Motorway A9 and main road through the Rhone valley to Fürgangen. At the roundabout, turn left towards Bellwald.
Public transportation: Take the train to Fürgangen (Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn) and then the cable car to Bellwald. Walk up through the village for ten minutes until you reach the starting point of the hike at the car park of the Richenen chairlift station. You can also take the regular ski bus.
