A tour, a nice tour of the Lavaronese terrace. Even the name, in its German-sounding form, intrigues us. So let's get on our mtb, there's fun to be had! Having reached Bertoldi, we give our legs strength and climb up to Slaghenaufi. The place is beautiful, with a splendid panorama. Then off we go, cut across the slope of Mount Tablat, descend to Gionghi and start climbing again, up to the Cost pass. From here it is downhill again, to Fort Belvedere, the Fort Museum. Let us take our time to visit it: history has passed between these walls! We return to Chiesa ploughing through meadows and pastures, passing by the beautiful lake, the blue and green pearl of Trentino. What about an aperitif on the beach?
- Directions
-
From the square in Chiesa, following the signposts, we pedal in the direction of Folgaria. Having passed Hotel Monte Rust, we turn right in the direction of Lanzino, climb up to Stengheli and continue in the direction of Bertoldi. Having reached the village, we climb up to Slaghenaufi and the Austro-Hungarian military cemetery above. Having visited the beautiful site, we resume our tour by climbing the wooded slope of Mount Tablat, cutting across it on the north-west side and descending to Gionghi and Cappella. From Cappella we ascend further, passing through Gàsperi, to the hamlet of Magré, from which we descend, return to Cappella, and turn in the direction of the fort. We pass through Villanova and a little further on, on the left, we take the pretty little road that takes us to the fortress. The fortress - a museum of the Great War - is well worth a visit. Having taken up the bicycle we take the little access road again and, having reached the main road, turn left and on a medium descent we cross the Oseli farmstead and continue until we reach the hamlet of Masi di Sotto. When we reach the hamlet, we pay attention to the signs inviting us to turn right and, via a dirt road and path, to reach the beautiful Lake Lavaronese. We come out of the wood onto the Nosellari - Chiesa link road, we follow it turning left for a few dozen metres, then we turn left onto the road that descends to the lake. We follow it round and, on the north-western side, follow the path that leads us back to Chiesa, from where we started out.
