This hike starts at the Absam car park, where you can park your car. The trail goes gently up and down over meadows and forests from Absam to Hungerburg. Again and again you can see down to one of the MARTHA villages.
Along the meadow path you pass the Thaurer Mure and continue up to the Romedius chapel and the ruins of Thaur Castle.
You pass the castle courtyard and the Adolf Pichler spring. The trail continues through the forest, heading west towards Innsbruck.
Continue past the Garzanhof farm to the Rechenhof farm. A small descent and the Arzler Scharte is passed at its lower end and again slightly uphill through spruce and beech forest to the Hungerburg.
