Follow the hiking route from Obergurgl via Pirchhütt's Bratbrücke bridge and cross Lobbach until you get to the number 39 trail fork-off. The winding path stretches up the steep slope in the direction of Sonnbergalm. Walk past the fork-off to lake Nedersee and enjoy lovely Soomsee mountain lake. From the lake in north-western direction towards the high Alpine valley leading to Gurgler Schartl (2932 m). The ascent to Gurgler Schartl via Stockferner glacier, amid the mountain lake area, can be quite exhausting. On top you are rewarded with marvelous panoramic views of the southern Alps incl. Ortler peak.

The car drive to the Ötztal valley. Situated in Tirol, the Ötztal valley set off in southerly direction and is the longest side valley in the Eastern Alps. The journey with the car leads you through the Inntal valley to the entrance of the valley and further on through the valley. Among the toll motorways you can also use the country roads.
