Up to the Rosskopf in Wildschönau

From the top station of the Markbachjoch gondola lift in Niederau, follow the path via Käsealm and the Horlerstiegl chapel in the direction of Rosskopf, the local Oberauer mountain at 1731 meters. From there you can enjoy a beautiful view of the high valley.  Alm products such as cheese and buttermilk can be tasted on the Käsealm - TIP: Guided tours of the local cheese dairy are possible. From the old Horlerstiegl chapel you can see the neighboring Brixental.

Passing a hunting lodge, it goes steadily through the forest towards the summit, past some moor lakes on the Rosskopf. The rustic Norderbergalm is then on the way back: specialties are served - lard noodles, leafy oil with cabbage or an alpine breakfast - taste pure Tyrol!

Back at the starting point, the petting zoo at the Markbachjochalm awaits little hikers. There is also a lot to see at the paraglider launch site before heading back down into the valley!
