Description
Farst sits enthroned like a little kingdom at 1,482 meters above Umhausen. High above the legendary Engelswand, visitors will be rewarded with breathtaking views and warm hospitality, as they venture up the steep, serpentine road. Farst is one of the oldest settlements in the valley, as early as the 13th century a Schwaighof was founded here. A little secret for nature lovers is a climb further to the Reichalm (closed), duration from Farst approx. 1 hour.

Directions
Starting point is the car park "Mure" in the center of Umhausen. From there you walk flat out of the valley over meadows and fields to the foot of the Engelswand. Arrived there you walk the winding road up to Farst. Once at the top you can enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of Umhausen and the surrounding area. If you want, you can walk over mountain meadows further on to the Reichalm (closed). Alternatively, the hike can also be started at the foot of the Engelswand.
