Description
This long-distance hiking trail extends in 10 stages, connecting all 3 nature park communities and encouraging people to learn from nature and get closer to it again. The 4th stage deals with the topic of “Sound in nature and architecture”. Part of the Lois Steiner Trail also runs along this beautiful section of the trail. The Lois Steiner Trail can also be hiked in WINTER.

The area of St. Lambrecht, St. Blase, Lassnitz, Murau and Ranten is very important in the area of folk culture: throughout Styria we are one of the regions that is home to an incredibly large treasure trove of songs that have been passed down through generations. Thanks to one man, Lois Steiner, this treasure trove of songs was preserved. He recorded around a thousand songs, one of his most famous and often sung is the Christmas carol “O Jubel, o Freud”.

Directions
You start the hike at the time-honored Benedictine monastery of St. Lambrecht, which tells a 900-year history. At the end of the town, a quiet hiking trail leads through the well-kept abbey gardens to the “Schönen Kreuz”, then on to the Heiligenstadt church and the “Wirt im Pichl” farm. The last part of the route leads through cool forest to the reading garden at St. Blasner Church. Along the way there are wonderful views towards Kalkberg, Mühlsteinboden and Zirbitzkogel. Benches always invite you to rest, linger and reflect.

In St. Blase you go past Maxi's Nature Park shop on the right; a bridge and chapel are on the way. Follow the road, then turn right downhill to a wooden house. Follow the path uphill until you reach the “Wirt im Pichl” farm.
