Enjoy a guided tour of the Fandler oil mill and taste the excellent specialities from the oil press
- Directions
-
We start from the hotel, past the quince orchards towards Buschenschank Haubenwaller. The route is marked with a green sign with a red bar. After the Buschenschank's tarmac pitches, we stay on the road and pass several farms and houses. Then we leave the road and turn left downhill on the marked hiking trail towards Pöllau. Below the Goldsberghof farm, the hiking trail turns right across meadows into the forest to the Calvary. Here we follow the stations of the cross towards Pöllau. When we reach the Pöllau bypass, we keep to the right on the pavement and walk along the main road to Erlacker-Straße. There we turn right and follow this road to the end of the settlement. We turn left as far as the main road and turn right again at the next entrance. Now we walk along the path to the left of the Safen and to the right of the settlement until we reach the junction with the bridge. After crossing the bridge, we see the Fandler oil mill ahead of us. We take the same route for the walk back.

The trail is easy to walk and therefore suitable for the whole family. Correct behaviour when hiking: Rules of behaviour when hiking
A few tips on correct and fair behaviour in the forest: (Source: www.bundesforste.at )
Hikers should avoid visiting the forest approx. 1.5 hours before sunrise and after sunset, as wild animals are particularly active at this time. Plastic bottles, handkerchiefs, cigarette butts etc. have no place in the forest! Please make sure that you do not leave any rubbish in the forest. Camping and making fires is strictly forbidden in the forest! In principle, every person in the forest is allowed to collect 2kg of mushrooms and berries per day for their own use. It is only prohibited if the forest owner expressly forbids it. - Tips

For the return journey, we recommend booking SAM (the shared taxi in Eastern Styria) - for stops and telephone numbers, see directions.
