- Description

Many thousands of years ago, the dragon Vistix lived here. He lived happily with his family on this ridge for many years until one day his wife fell ill and died. Now he had to look after his children all by himself. To find food, Vistix had to fly all over the surrounding area and often spent half a day on the road until he came home again to his hungry children. One day, when the dragon returned from the search for food, the nest was empty; the young were nowhere to be found. So Vistix flew to Fischbach for advice and help. The people of Fischbach were afraid of the dragon for the time being. When he told the villagers his misery, they took pity on him and helped him look for the cubs. The little dragons were untraceable and remained gone forever. The dragon and the Fischbachers were good friends until death.
- Directions

We start our tour at the primary schools in Fischbach. There we cross the road to the cemetery and turn right into Roseggersiedlung. Here we walk slightly uphill for a short while through a nice housing estate until we turn left following the yellow markings onto trail no. 2. A shady forest path with fragrant conifers leads us to the wayside shrine "Faschingbauer Kreuz" and then on to the dragon's seat. The nest, the traces of a dragon and a beautiful view of eastern Styria await us there. Here we enjoy the view on the resting benches before we continue to hiking trail no. 3 after a short steep connecting trail. We make our way back along the so-called Dichterweg (path no. 3) - a comfortable forest path. This leads back to trail no. 2, on which we hike back to our starting point.

A few tips on correct and fair behaviour in the forest: (Source: www.bundesforste.at )
Hikers should avoid visits to the forest about 1.5 hours before sunrise and after sunset, as wild animals are particularly active during this time.
Plastic bottles, handkerchiefs, cigarette butts etc. have no place in the forest! Please make sure that you do not leave any rubbish in the forest.
Camping and lighting fires are strictly forbidden in the forest!
In principle, every person is allowed to pick 2 kg of mushrooms and berries per day for personal use. It is only prohibited if the forest owner expressly forbids it.
