From the center of Krakauebene head east to Hotel Stigenwirth. Immediately after the hotel, the path branches off to Etrachsee and leads over a slightly ascending driveway to the farmstead.
After another approx. 100m in an easterly direction, the footpath to Etrachsee branches off to the N (left) and leads along a slightly ascending meadow path to the lift facility.
At the fork in the road approx. 150m after the lift, follow the upper, slightly ascending path to the signposted junction for Etrachsee.
Follow the now slightly descending forest road to the bridge over the Etrachbach.
Follow the forest path further approx. 150m in direction SE until the junction of the footpath to the Etrachsee.Follow the footpath through high forest and across alpine pastures to the N until you reach the Etrachtal road.
On the slightly ascending, asphalted access road to Etrachsee, past the Karlhütte, which is open in the summer months, to the N to the GH Etrachsee.

From Vienna/Graz/Linz via the Murtal expressway S36 to Judenburg, the federal road B96 to Scheifling, the B96 further to Murau and Ranten. In Seebach either turn off in the direction of Krakaudorf/Krakauhintermühlen or via Unter- u. Oberetrach to Krakauschatten and Krakauhintermühlen.
