Description
Directly next to the Willow Cathedral, the largest living building in Austria, the Lettmair Au meanders through the meadow landscape on the banks of the Enns.

The "Lettmair Au" theme trail takes us on a journey through the fascinating world of the floodplain landscape close to the river. An ideal place for sensual training and constructive approach to the acquisition of knowledge.

Directions

After we have experienced the grandeur of the Willow Cathedral by looking under the dome of the cathedral, we connect to the Lettmair Au. The theme trail starts at a pond where, depending on the season, there is a lot of life to be seen. Then we come to the different stations, like a huge gambling table on which river systems can be recreated. A drill core shows the life of the Au below the surface and when we are already a little tired, we take a seat on the tree bench under the old beech tree and can now choose whether we prefer to meditate silently, listen to Vivaldi's "Four Seasons" or rather listen to the story the old beech tree tells about the Lettmair Au. A special place is still the viewing terrace on the banks of the Enns, where we have the feeling of floating above the river. Depending on time and interest we return to the Willow Dome after a little more or less than 1 hour.

Tips

The national park offers guided programmes at the willow dome: Microscopy of a water drop, determination of the creatures using boards, finally the water drop is projected onto a screen and tiny water fleas and mayfly larvae become monsters moving on the screen.
