Directions
Feast for the eyes and the palate

On the Fürstenfeld Delight Tour you start from the tourism office of the thermal spa capital Fürstenfeld and experience one culinary highlight after the other: From Fürstenfeld, you take a leisurely drive into the Rittscheintal valley toward the herb village of Söchau, where the herb garden invites you to recharge your batteries or Café Wilfling to enjoy coffee and homemade pastries. The winery Thaller impresses with excellent wines, which are pressed in the newly built castle. In the attached Greißlerei you can get top products from the region.

The tour continues via the village of Breitenfeld in the direction of Riegersburg: on the ridge you will first see the magnificent Riegersburg, built on a basalt rock, the landmark of southeastern Styria. At the foot of the Riegersburg, an inclined cable car takes you up to the fortress in just 1 ½ minutes. Via a newly built path around the fortress you reach the village of Riegersburg. Here you can fortify yourself for the ascent to Riegersburg with coffee and cake or a substantial lunch.

Sweet temptations

After this enjoyable stop, the pleasure bike tour leads out through Riegersburg. Here you should definitely make the detour to the chocolate manufactory of Sepp Zotter; over 365 different varieties of hand-scooped chocolates from the master's hand await your tasting. Continue past the lakeside resort through the Grazbach valley in the direction of Stang, to a turn-off to the Gölles fruit distillery & vinegar factory; the climb is soon forgotten after tasting the schnapps and vinegars.

Visit to the art chef

"Home" leads the gourmet tour to Hatzendorf to the Malerwinkl, where the chef and artist Peter Troissinger will be happy to spoil you with culinary delights, but also with a chat. Finally, you have the option of cycling back to Fürstenfeld and exploring beautiful gems along the railroad line, or the alternative of a pleasant train ride from Hatzendorf to Fürstenfeld with the thermal train to end a truly enjoyable day. For optimal planning of your personal gourmet tour, we recommend that you ask in advance for the exact times for the return trip with the thermal train (more information under Arrival).
