- Description
-
The tour starts in Wenigzell and leads along the MTB route "Der große Jogl" to the Feistritztalradweg R8. This is particularly well-known for its flat route on a former railroad line and is therefore particularly suitable for families. You return to Wenigzell via Strallegg and the Toten Mann. Legend has it that a pilgrim to Mariazell died at the famous crossroads of many hiking and cycling trails, hence the name "Dead Man". However, this is just one of many stories that are told about this spot.
This tour is only signposted "Pacherrunde" if it is not on the "Der große Jogl" tour. Otherwise, follow the signs for "Der große Jogl".
- Directions
-
We start our cycle tour on the Pacher loop in Wenigzell. From the town center we cycle towards Buchtelbar, cross the country road and turn right after the petrol station. We also follow the signs for "Der große Jogl" on this section and stay on this path until we come to the junction of the country road again. Here we turn left and ride along the road for a short distance before turning right into a wooded area. We continue along the quiet, winding road until we reach the main road at Gasthof Winkler "Hausbauer". We cross the road and continue along the R8 Feistritztal cycle path towards Birkfeld. On the way, we pass the Töglhofer family's lakeside hut (on the other side of the Feistritz).
Shortly afterwards, we leave the cycle path and turn left (again following the signs for "Der große Jogl") so that we reach the main road again, which we cross and follow the signs for the "Der große Jogl" tour in the direction of Strallegg. Passing the Eggseppl, several crossroads and a motocross ranch, we reach the village of Strallegg. At the fire station, continue straight on into the town center. We follow the road through the village until the turn-off towards the Almblick ski lifts. We ride straight past the Posch snack station and then enter a wooded area. We follow this path until we reach the country road, which we first cross and then follow for a short time. We turn right and head towards "Toter Mann". Once there, we turn left, pass the "Bergler Stub'n" inn and return to Wenigzell.
