Grossarl: Schiedweg

First, you walk along the river to the Schiedweg. On the way you will find the Hotel Schiederhof where you can taste delicacies. You can go by car or public bus until the start point of the Schiedweg - this would be approx. 4 km less.

You hike up the Schiedweg until you reach the Holzlehen farm. From here you have a wonderful view to the whole Grossarltal.

The Hotel Alpenklang is located in the middle of this hiking tour. Here you can enjoy a delicious meal and you can warm up yourself. It is especially funny when the hosts start playing music.

If you take your sledge with you, you can sled down. Then this winter hike is fun for the whole family. But ATTENTION: The Schiedweg is a public road, the cars have priority. There is no liability for any accidents.

You walk from the village center of Grossarl to the roundabout, then straight into the district of Unterberg. Cross the large mountain railway car park, pass the Hotel Tauernhof to the promenade. Follow this way in the direction to Schied / Au. Go past the Hotel Schiederhof and take the Schiedweg on the left, about 4 km to here. (Until here it is possible to go by car or public bus). Ascent at the "Schiedweg" past the Hotel Alpenklang to the farm "Holzlehen" (approx. 8 km from Grossarl) - back on the same path.
