TG17 Seewaldsee-round

This very beautiful mountain bike trail runs to the Seewaldsee nature reserve. The route begins with a steeper section with magnificent views of the Dachstein glacier and the Bischofsmütze, later leading into a somewhat flatter section to the Seewaldsee lake. A true power spot!

The tour begins directly at the Voglauerhof inn. After crossing the main road and the bridge over the Lammer, turn left. After 600 m uphill to the right, you pass an abandoned gravel pit. To the left past an old forester's lodge, later over a bridge, after 2.5 km there is a turn-off to the right towards Seewaldsee, Kühbichl, Brunnbergbauer (farm). Past the farms, you reach a short descent at kilometre 5.1. Afterwards, the trail continues up a gentle slope into the so-called Marchgraben (ditch). At kilometre 9.0, after a ridge, you reach the Seewaldsee nature reserve. Be sure to take a break here on one of the numerous benches or quench your hunger and thirst in the Auerhütte (hut) at the western end of the lake. Continue, now on asphalt again, in a descent to the Seewald farmers. After 11.7 km, turn left.

TIP: short detour to the right to the Wilhelmskapelle (chapel)- mystical place of power! Downhill past the Schönau farmstead to a crossroads. Turn left and follow the road, first flat, later downhill back to the starting point.

Motorway A 10, exit Golling, on the federal road B 162 in the direction of Abtenau until Voglau, park here on the right-hand side at the Voglauerhof inn.

From Abtenau approx. 5 kilometres to Voglau, park on the left-hand side at Voglauerhof inn.
