Family bike tour - for little forest and meadow explorers

We start our family tour at the tourist information office in Schöneck and drive towards the roundabout. Shortly before, we turn left into a small path, follow this and cross the street to get to the Meiler area. There is a snack bar, the Muldenquelle and several ponds that invite you to take a short break. The path continues towards the Tannenhaus, left before the paddock we turn into the forest, ignoring the first fork in the road and turn left on the main path.

For about 1 km we follow this path to a covered seating group on the left appears. Here we turn right, after about 500m we turn left again and follow the path to a small wood yard near the road to Kottenheide. From here it is another 1000m until we turn right again and finally arrive in Kottenheide. We keep to the left and already see the village square with benches, swings and a small climbing frame. Following the road, shortly afterwards we reach the Hotel Haus am Ahorn, our destination for the day.

After a well-deserved break and a small or large refreshment, we drive back to Schöneck. We keep to the left and have to drive about 300m next to the main road in the hard shoulder. This goes very well one after the other and soon the "correct" path appears on the left. If you are traveling with a bike trailer, you can of course stay on the road. Shortly afterwards we turn right and follow the "Kirchsteig" parallel to the road, always slightly downhill to Schöneck. Here we cross the road again and drive back over the Meilergebiet to the start.
