- Description

The route can be divided into four different stages.
The first section of the mountain bike tour takes you from Schaffhausen to Hallau. Here you will discover the Rhine Falls, the largest waterfall in Europe, beautiful woodlands and small wine-growing villages.
The second section of the route takes you from Hallau to Thayngen. On the panoramic road, you can enjoy incredible views as far as the Swiss Alps and continue over the wild and wooded Randen to Thayngen.
The third stage leads from Thayngen to Stein am Rhein, a gem on the banks of the Lower Lake and the Rhine. On the way, it is worth cooling off in the Rhine and in Stein am Rhein you will be rewarded with impressive facade paintings.
The fourth and final stage takes you from Stein am Rhein back to Schaffhausen, accompanied by idyllic villages in eastern Switzerland with half-timbered houses, secluded lakes and ponds. And in Schaffhausen, the Munot fortress greets you from afar.
- Directions

Stage 1: from Schaffhausen to Hallau
Via the Rhine Falls and Jestetten (DE), you cycle over the wooded Rossberg into the sun-drenched Klettgau, one of the largest wine-growing regions in German-speaking Switzerland. The route leads through the pretty villages of Osterfingen, Wilchingen and Trasadingen along the vineyards to Hallau, the capital of Schaffhausen's Blauburgunderland.
Stage 2: from Hallau to Thayngen
The route takes you from Hallau along the Panoramastrasse to Schleitheim. Here there is an ascent to the Siblinger Randenhaus with a magnificent view of the Alps. This is followed by a longer royal stage over the wild and wooded Randen on partly German soil. Multiple views of the southern Black Forest and the Hegau volcanic cones reward you on this section.
Stage3 : from Thayngen to Stein am Rhein
Through hilly cultivated countryside towards the Rhine, where you can enjoy a refreshment stop at the Rheinuferpark Gailingen (DE). Via Ramsen and Schienen (DE), the route takes you up to the proud Hohenklingen Castle. From here, you will be rewarded with a magnificent view over the Hegau, Lake Constance and the Rhine landscape, as well as the day's destination, the picturesque, medieval town of Stein am Rhein.
Stage 4: from Stein am Rhein to Schaffhausen
Idyllic villages in eastern Switzerland with half-timbered houses, secluded lakes and ponds await you on this stage. Passing the Nussbaumer, Hüttwiler and Husemere lakes, you reach Feuerthalen via the Cholfirstwald forest and then the medieval town of Schaffhausen.
