Description

From the starting point of the hike (parking lot a municipal park/kindergarten) we walk through Kirchengasse Alley to St. Stephen`s parish church. Here begins the way of the cross, lined with sculptures made of steel and granite, running along almost the entire mountain settlement. After the last station, a circle of 13 stone pillars, we follow a field and forest path uphill to the right. Through beautiful Steyregger Forest with its old beech trees, we continue uphill along a moderate gradient, from the left Alpine Association Trail No. 51 comes up, after 3 km or 1 hour and a short distance along the forest edge we get to Brauner Farm at just under 500 m above sea level. We follow the sealed road, past the hiking trail crossing with benches and after just over a kilometre once again enter the forest at a freestanding oak tree. The last 15 minutes require some effort, the forest trail is steep!  We get now to the 616 m -high summit of Pfenningberg.
