Trail number 2, the “Schneeofen Runde” (approx. 1.8 km), can be easily reached via the Höss-Express chairlift. It is only a few meters from the exit to the start of the lap. A short distance to the left along the piste and you will find the entrance to the signposted snowshoe trail on the right. It goes back to the valley station of the 2000er drag lift and from there, past the snow pond, to the mountain inn Höss. From there it is only a few meters back to the chairlift.
The tours off the signposted trails are not secured and there is a risk of falls and avalanches. It is essential to pay attention to the terrain and the alpine dangers there. Transport with the Hösskogel double chairlift is not possible without skis or snowboards!
The most important tips for snowshoeing:
Careful slope planning!
If you are traveling without a guide, you should choose a tour destination tailored to your performance and find out about wildlife protection and restricted areas on site.
Appropriate behavior - you move in unsecured alpine terrain at your own risk!
For commercial use (guided snowshoe tours), permission from the landowners is required! You can hire equipment from Intersport Pachleitner and Huber Sport 2000 in the town center, as well as in the rental shop at the Intersport Pachleitner middle station.
Equipment rental is partially included in the guided tours. - Highest point
