Nature eternally creates new shapes
Even before you reach the highest point of the summit of Kolsassberg Mountain, you will be attracted by the mediaeval flair of the Rettenberg Ruins. It is not just the landmark, but also the most popular tourist attraction in the community. The former owner and likely also builder - Heinrich von Rottenburg - had to surrender Rettenberg Castle because of a dispute with the sovereign Duke Friedrich of Austria. Around 4090, knight Florian Waldauf grasped the chance and pledged to reconstruct Rettenberg Castle once again. The location of the castle marked not only a picturesque spot, but with its massive and earthbound design also represented the down-to-earthness of Tiroleans.
