Cultural attractions abound. This is the perfect trail for leisure cyclists: an ideal mix of exercise, culture and culinary experiences. On your way, you will come across the Mönchhof village museum with some 35 reconstructed buildings. Here you can see how people lived in bygone days or take a stroll down memory lane. Halbturn Palace is a Baroque gem hosting changing exhibitions. Finally, why not visit the basilica in Frauenkirchen and end the day with a hearty snack and a glass of wine. Exhibitions, galleries and wineries round off the attractions along this trail. Just grab your bike and seize the day!
The Mönchhof village museum is our number one tip along the Culture Trail. Find out how people in the Lake Neusiedl region used to work, live and celebrate in bygone days. Discover the historic buildings, workshops, furniture and implements. For more information on the Village Museum click here. Dorfmuseum

Arriving by train:
Lake Neusiedl is easy and convenient to reach by train. Whether you are travelling from Switzerland, Germany, or the west or south of Austria, simply change at the Hauptbahnhof Wien (Vienna’s main train station). Regional trains operated by Austrian rail operator ÖBB transport you to Neusiedl am See station in barely 40 minutes, where coordinated bus and train connections can take you on towards Pamhagen/Fertöszentmiklos or Eisenstadt/Sopron. Most trains allow you to bring your bike on board with you: however, you must book a place for your bike on Railjet and on EC/IC trains, as well as on Nightjet sleeper trains. On regional trains, you may bring your bike on board with you without prior booking, subject to available space.
