You start this wonderful , leisurely loop from the parking lot at the sports field in Forchtenstein.The W1 ford route leads you along well-surfaced paths through colorful fields lined with flowering hedges, such as wood anemones. The route follows the Mooskogelweg towards Mattersburg past vineyards and farmland. Body and soul can relax in this beautiful natural setting. Due to its length, this tour is particularly suitable for walkers who are not so good on foot. Magnificent views towards Mattersburg on the one hand and Forchtenstein Castle on the other accompany you.

The start of the ford route is at the parking lot of the sportfield in Forchtenstein, right at the entrace to the town. Keep left at the first signpost and continue along the Mosskogelweg towards Mattersburg. Now continue to the right through colorful fields and orchards towards the expressway underpass. One there, choose the direction to Mattersburg. Keep left at the Stücklkreuz and walk back over the expressway bridge. Now continue left along the well-surfaced field path towards Forchtenstein Castle. The field path leads directly into the Rosalia cycle path. Once there, choose the direction to Forchtenstein and cross the ford bridge back to the starting point of the walking route.
