Our national artist, Božena Slančíková, was born on October 2, 1867 in the Novohrad Hills. She spent 42 years of her life here. She chose her artistic name Timrava after the name of a nearby spring. From her birthplace, the literary-oriented Timrava nature trail will lead you there. You will walk through the places where she would wander most often. Three-sided info panels will introduce you to Timrava's life story, her "road to fame", why she is considered a "miracle from the Novohrad Hills", and much more about her and this area. You will get to know the places where she wrote her most famous works.
In addition to historical context or selected recipes from "Timrava's Kitchen", the panels will introduce you to the local flora and fauna. There is a permanent exhibition dedicated to Timrava at the rectory - her birthplace and in the B. S. Timrava Museum, where the nature trail begins and ends.
