By car
Visitors travelling by car from the north travel via Bern through the Lötschberg tunnel (car-train), from the east via the Furka pass (or car-train) and from the south via the Simplon pass. You reach the Saas Valley from the west of Switzerland via Lausanne and through the Rhone valley to Visp.
The Lötschberg car-train
From Kandersteg (on the north side): daily from 6.10 a.m. every 30 mins. until 11.10 p.m.
(first train at 5.10 a.m.; last train at 12 midnight)
From Goppenstein (on the south side): daily from 6.10 a.m. every 30 mins. until 11.10 p.m.
(first train at 5.40 a.m.; last train at 12 midnight)
Every 15 minutes at weekends in the high season.
