Come on in... The Theresia Gartenhotel is an ideal base for winter sports enthusiasts. 200km of runs, 62 modern cable cars, chair lifts and T-bars as well as 350 snowmaking facilities on all major slopes are to be found right on the doorstep, guaranteeing skiers a great day out. The hotel is, however, much more than just one of numerous ski hotels. In winter 2010 the Theresia was picked out by a hotel rating platform as the SIXTH BEST-LOVED WINTER SPORTS HOTEL in the Alps (Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France) Location NEW: From winter season 2011/12 we can offer guests our excellent new hotel-own ski school, "ALPIN-SKISCHULE *****School & Rent”, with its office based in the hotel and an assembly point and practice beside the hotel. On top of this, guests can make use of the new SPORTSHOP with ski and snowboard rental which is open all day, and the ski pass purchase point also conveniently located within the hotel. Our exclusive ski school service for families: Your children are collected at the hotel entrance by their ski instructors shortly before the course begins (approx. 10 a.m., only 4 – 8 children per group!). The instructors accompany the group for a complimentary lunch and refreshments in the newly renovated Kids Club restaurant, then drop your children back at the hotel once the course is over (approx. 3 p.m.). Should you still be out enjoying yourselves then there is no need to worry: The instructors ensure that your children are handed over to our childminders at the Kids Club until you return. QUALITY IS OUR SUCCESS! The Theresia - an ideal location in the skiing area, just 5 to 8 minutes from the centre of the village on foot along the main walking trail. Opposite the hotel you will find a baby lift for the beginners, the "Mitteregg" and "Bergfried" lifts by which you have the access to the extensive ski area - the so called "ski circus" Saalbach-Hinterglemm. You start you skiing pleasure directly at the hotel at the "Mitteregg" or "Bergried" draglift. You can reach the hotel from the south side and the north side as well - without using a car or ski bus. If you wish to start you ski run at another end of our extensive resort: just take the free ski bus that stops directly in front of the hotel (approx. every 20 minutes). At first sight, the Theresia Gartenhotel ****Superior in Saalbach-Hinterglemm appears quite traditional. But venture beyond the façade, and you will find a different world. The interior is a designer‘s dream of space, style and modern art. The simple wood, clean lines, natural light and subtle lighting create something which represents modern Austria at its best. Yet, despite having a feel somewhere between an exclusive London club and an art gallery, the Theresia is a hotel that welcomes the whole family. The family-(run) hotel The year-round Kids Club entertains and cares for youngsters aged two and over during the day and at evening mealtime, while a babysitting service can be organised for little ones under two. Families can stay in the main Gartenhotel ****Superior with its superior rooms and large suites, some with modern décor and some in country house style, or they can opt for the Aparthotel**** (linked by a heated corridor), which is a little livelier and has apartments with kitchenettes, accommodating families of up to eight. Family is an important factor for owner Mrs Brettermeier. Guests will see and feel that as she tours the ancestral portrait gallery and shares her family history with those who are interested. The hotel was her grandmother's dream who was finally able to purchase it after years of hard work as a dairy maid. And when Mrs Brettermeier tells the story of her grandmother's romance with the farmer Johann Hasenauer who lived just across the river, people come to understand why there is a unique bond between the family and this location. "The Brettermeiers are strong women and passionate hosts," Mrs. Brettermeier often says. And she herself belongs to those women, as the mother of three with a completed degree and always in pursuit of the highest of standards. The GREEN SPA hotel If you want peace and quiet, time to re-group your thoughts, and pamper both body and mind, the Theresia is just the place. The spa is simply magnificent, with an indoor pool, year-round heated outdoor pool, saunas, Turkish baths and a massage menu, not to mention delightful mountain views. The beauty and treatment areas are stunning, all with state-of-the-art facilities. Since December 2010, the Theresia features a new highlight - the "Börlind Natural Spa", an eco-certified cosmetic product line by Annemarie Börlind, including the medical cosmetic line DadoSens for allergy sufferers. Fitness area The gym with state-of-the-art gym cardio equipment is open from 7am until midnight every day. Gourmet cuisine for the health-conscious connoisseur Gault Millau has selected the 10 best wellness hotel gourmet kitchens in Austria, and the kitchen of the Theresia Gartenhotel was among them: the selection of dishes, the particular focus of the kitchen, the freshness of the ingredients, creative and light recipes that don’t compromise on flavour, the selective use of fresh herbs, a complementary selection of alcoholic and soft drinks and the outstanding breakfast selection convinced the testers. The Gartenhotel Theresia takes pride in offering fully organic cuisine at every meal. After all, Salzburg is the region with the largest proportion of organic farming (about 50%) in the entire EU. And even here, in the land of organic pioneers, the Theresia is setting new standards. Currently the only holiday hotel in the province of Salzburg with a 4-5 star rating, it offers dishes throughout the day made of products complying with the strict directives of the EU Organic Regulation. Included in the Theresia's culinary achievements is the ‘Grüne Haube' (‘Green Bonnet') - an Austrian quality seal of culinary excellence based on regional, mainly organic, products. And Gault Millau selected the Theresia's cuisine as one of the ten best gourmet cuisines at Austrian wellness hotels. Private art collection The jewel of the hotel is its collection of modern and contemporary art.
