As a winter holiday resort, Kitzbühel is almost unique in its triple embodiment of romantic charm, sporting challenges and a refreshing joie de vivre. The unique, magical ambience of the town of the chamois during the colder seasons, the matchless geographical position and the nature of the resort, the seemingly endless range of diverse sporting activities and numerous international events and festivals combine to make Kitzbühel the number one winter holiday destination for over a million people year after year. The motto here is - simply dive into a magical world of unlimited possibilities!
The resort of Kitzbühel lies in an extremely advantageously placed, sheltered north-westerly position, which means snow from December to April – right down into the valley. The layer of grass, which extends as far as 2,000 m above sea level, means that even relatively small amounts of snow suffice for uninterrupted skiing and snowboarding – long-term.
And Kitzbühel’s “ski safari“ has taken on an entirely new dimension since the 3S cable car system was opened between the ski areas of Hahnenkamm/Pengelstein and Jochberg/Resterhöhe. Since then, it has become possible to ski across the entire area, from Aschau to Pass Thurn in both directions, without having to depend on return transport via a free shuttle bus. The region also offers a special service for children, teenagers, families and beginners: practice lifts are available for use, free of charge, in the valley at every resort in the area.
In short, guaranteed snow and well-groomed slopes invite you to ski to your heart’s content. Families are particularly fond of this all-inclusive programme.
