„Even more fun in the snow” – that´s the motto of Bayerische Zugspitzbahn Bergbahn AG this winter. To prove it, they´ve revamped the “Kandahar” run which will be used in the 2011 FIS Alpine World Ski Championchips. More artificial snow making on the Hausberg area secure the winter season from December far into the spring.
All up, more than 60 kilometer of slopes and more than 24 facilities let the day becoming an experience.

The Zugspitze region is a true dorado for winter sports enthusiasts, with its diverse mountain ranges, perfectly-groomed slopes, from the baby runs to the world-famous Kandahar and Olympia downhill runs in the Classic Area. Beginners and pros alike will encounter optimum conditions against the backdrop of Germany’s most majestic peak from November to May in the Zugspitz Area. Not only does the area boast state of the art access and transport facilities, but also snowy conditions to die for, which, at an altitude of between 2,000 m and 2,720 m, makes for unlimited enjoyment.
What’s more, the Zugspitze Terrain Park on Germany’s highest mountain, which offers a line each for beginners and advanced in the kicker and rail area, also enjoys a great reputation throughout Europe. The area, which covers around three hectares, is available for use by pros and aspiring pros as soon as all the lift systems are open, usually from January onwards. Until then, enthusiasts can let off steam in the “small” fun park by the glacier lifts.
Skiers and boarders are free to use over 60 km of slopes, while the network of winter hiking trails extends over a further 100 km.
