Beyond the slopes, Forni di Sopra offers also cross-country trails, winding along the river Tagliamento for 13 km (with one touristic track and one competitive track for more demanding skiers and a night lightened ring), the very new Fantasy Snow Park, an amusement park on the snow, the ice skating rink, the slalom trail with automatic timing, the opportunity to practice touristic-skiing, climbing-skiing and to attend eco-climbing courses on artificial structures. You can spend your time in the gym, the fitness centre, on the tennis, basketball or volleyball courts, in the swimming pool, in the sauna or in the thermal baths. You can also try the sleddog, a race on a sleigh dragged by dogs, an old habit recently rediscovered, which allows to enjoy all the features of the snow.
For the season 2004/05 Promotur has widened the middle and lower part of the slope Varmost 1, strengthend and extended the artificial snow installations and realized the new slope Davost Sud in the Davost area.
With a terrific view on the tops of the Eastern Dolomites, Forni di Sopra is located 900 meters above the sea level and it has an excellent level of snow during the whole season. The resort offers a skiing centre divided in two main zones. The first, named Davost, is dedicated to the beginners and it includes several trails at low altitudes; the second, the Varmost area (which leads to the 2.073 mt of the Crusicalas top) is for more experienced skiers. All the trails (with a total length of 15 km) are always opened thanks to an artificial snow installation.
